eco-art for change

     This series grew out of re-purposing found materials discovered in cleaning out bookshelves, closets, and storage in my high school art teaching environment, as well as purging my own antique linens collection.

     Vintage HORIZON magazines were found from the 60s, painted canvas pieces from discarded student work, and fabulous damask and lacy linens, along with wonderful colorful printed images, which lent themselves perfectly to composite collage.

     In the process of playing with the intriguing collage combinations*, the concepts slowly emerged, and the cultural connotations* and contemporary connections* became clear.
